The LANGRES [lɑ̃ɡʁ] is one of the pocket knives from Burgundy. It originated in the 19th century, is also called CUSSON or NAMUR depending on the region and belongs, along with GOUTTIÉRE, TONNEAU, SEURRE and DONJON, to the knife family that was sold on the markets in the middle of France from the Loire in Burgundy, Bourbonnais and up to the Bresse . Like all Burgundy knives, it has a blade called "English" blade in France. Practical and versatile, these knives with drop down blades were always close at hand in the pockets of the people here, and were used on all occasions.
The cutlery PARAPLUIE manufactured the LANGRES for PassionFrance® based on its own fourniture that have been used for generations. As a sign of their authenticity, they show on the blade the emblème de Parapluie avec the name of PassionFrance®.
