The "TRUFFIER" [tʁy.fje] or "CHAMPIGNON" is a mushroom knife and therefore a specialist among the pocket knives of France.
There is a passion for mushroom picking all over the world, including France. Be it in the fields, in the forest or under alleys with truffle oaks ... everywhere people love the noble plants and know how to prepare them in a wide variety of ways. Mushroom friends just as much love their little "COUTEAU-CHAMPIGNON" or "TRUFFIER", as it is called in the south in the truffle regions: their small, fine knife with its slim, slightly curved blade, which ensures a perfect cut. Forged from fine-grain carbon steel and sharpened with a razor-sharp edge, this blade cuts the finest slices of truffles just like the fragile stems of other mushrooms without crushing their sensitive cells.
This mushroom knife has no brush at the end of the handle, because people don't appreciate that here. Instead, a small conical mandrel is turned on the massive end of the handle, with the help of which the mushrooms can be easily freed from pine needles and dirt.
The TRUFFIER is made by cutlery COUTELLERIE COGNET in Thiers for PassionFrance. As a sign of their authenticity, the knives have the MCC emblem, the Lapin, on the blade.
