The CURNICCIOLU is the pocket knife of the once agropastoral, peasant population of Corsica, which for centuries served and still serves it for all the tasks of daily life. Its shape evolves from the massive curved end of the goat and sheep horns used to graze the maquis and from which the handles are made. Following the different curvatures, individual blades can and must be forged and create individual knives. In the isolated valleys of the inner mountain massif, knives of different character have been able to develop over the centuries, some of which still exist, some of which have fallen into oblivion and are still waiting to be rediscovered and revived. In 2014, director Maja Dielhenn accompanied us on our "voyage of discovery" to the roots of Corsican knives. She made two short films that were broadcast on Kabel 1 "Abenteuer Leben" (to be seen with advertising on : https://www.kabeleins.de/tv/abenteuer-leben/videos/2014249-besondere-messer-aus-korsika-1-clip and https://www.kabeleins.de/tv/abenteuer-leben/videos/2014249-besondere-messer-aus-korsika-2-clip )
The CURNICCIOLU for PassionFrance® are made in the atelier of the knifemaker Alexandre Musso in Corsica, honored with numerous prizes and awards. They are completely made by hand in two sizes and have the classic ram's horn and sheep's horn handles without locking. They are authentic ... as they have been known for centuries.
