The LONDON - GWALARN has a middle bolster made from mosaic damask on its handle, forged by hand by the damask smith Philippe Ricard, whose pattern shows the ermine tails of the coat of arms of Brittany. The coat of arms dates back to the Duc de Bretagne in 1215 and symbolises his white ermine coat. Damasks are forged from nickel-containing (light-coloured) and carbon-rich (dark-coloured) steels. The blacksmith's art with a mosaic damask is to achieve the correct folding and twisting for the desired damask pattern. The knives known today as "LONDON" are so deeply embedded in Breton culture that we gave this model the name GWALARN. We manufacture it in our atelier 100% by hand and exclusively with blades made of high-performance steel RWL34. As a sign of its authenticity, the GWALARN bears the coat of arms of PassionFrance®, the Coq ... more about the GWALARN
