Laguiole-Grelot / Laguiole Aile-de-Pigeon
It was a privilege of the best blacksmiths to make special LAGUIOLES that differed from the knives of normal production. Elaborate handles were designed or special blades were forged. The LAGUIOLE-Grelot (Pearl-Onion or Queue-de-Scorpion) as the Aile-de-Pigeon (pigeon wings) are examples of the art of the knife maker. The tradition of such knives, which were made for special occasions or on customers demands, goes back to the beginnings in Laguiole in the 19th century and requires great craftsmanship. For their owners they were pieces of jewelry.
