NAVETTE [ na.vɛt ] is the French word for the weaver's shuttle, the part that, when weaving fabrics, must be able to swing between the warp threads without getting stuck. With its rounded ends, the NAVETTE is a palmstone ...
These pocketknifes originated in the north and northeast of France in the 18th century and quickly spread throughout France, where they were particularly appreciated by urban society. In addition to the main blade, they often had other parts such as small corkscrews for uncorking perfume bottles and small blades that were used to sharpen feathers or to cut open books and files. They were as popular with society women as they were with men.
The cutlery PARAPLUIE manufactured the NAVETTE for PassionFrance on the basis of its own components that have been in use for generations. As a sign of their authenticity, they present the forge brand from PARAPLUIE. Only a few examples of these genuine components with carbon steel blades with handles made of white bone and dark horn are available.
Model variants:
- buffalo horn or white buffalo bone
